Abdul Sobur, born on 10 December 1967 in Bandung, Indonesia, is an art activist and entrepreneur who has played an important role in the development of creative industries and small businesses in Indonesia. He started his academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) in 1993. After that, he continued his postgraduate education and earned his Master of Fine Arts degree from ITB in 2000. This in-depth education formed a strong foundation for his work in the arts and creative industries.

Since 1995 until today, Abdul Sobur has established and managed various initiatives through Global Kriya Nusantara. Under this company, he launched several brands such as Kriya Nusantara, Gloya Indonesia, Cawang Art Radio, and Al Ihsan Islamic Art, all of which have been officially registered and successfully promoted local arts and culture to a wider market.

In 2024, Abdul Sobur was entrusted to serve as the Chairman of the Board of Perkumpulan Untuk Peningkatan Usaha Kecil (P.U.P.U.K.), where he focuses on improving and supporting small businesses in Indonesia. In addition, he also serves as Chairman of the Indonesian Furniture and Handicraft Industry Association (HIMKI) as well as Vice Chairman III in charge of Manufacturing, Mining, Forestry & Investment at the DPP of the Indonesian Export Companies Association (GPEI).

Not only that, Abdul Sobur also plays an important role at the regional level as Chairman of DPD GPEI West Java and is actively involved in the Standing Committee for Promotion and Image Development of KADIN Indonesia. His role in the KADIN West Java Export-Import Trade Standing Committee demonstrates his commitment to advancing exports and strengthening the image of Indonesian industry in the international arena.

Outside of work, Abdul Sobur is an avid hiker and traveller, which not only brings balance to his life but also enriches his creative perspective. With extensive experience and dedication, Abdul Sobur continues to make significant contributions to the development of creative industries and small businesses in Indonesia.

Ferry Dzulkifli Latief was born in Pasuruan in January 1971. He completed his Bachelor of Science (S.Si) in Engineering Mathematics at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Surabaya, which gave him a strong foundation in analysis and modelling, very useful in his career in the development and consulting sectors. Later, Ferry earned a Master of Science in Management (MSM) from the School of Business and Management (SBM) at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), deepening his understanding of management and business strategy.

Ferry also attended various trainings, such as ‘Making Market Works’ in Bangkok and ‘Social Economy Analysis Training’ at INDEF, which expanded his knowledge on market development. He specialises in Market System Development with the Making Market Works for the Poor (M4P) approach, and has competencies in Local Economic Development and policy analysis to support sustainable development.

In his career in the private sector, Ferry is experienced in SME Development, facilitating industry clusters, and multi-stakeholder partnerships. He also has expertise in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), focusing on the positive contribution of companies to society and the environment. His extensive experience includes being a board member in TENOV, IKA ITS, and IA MSM-ITB.

Since April 2014, Ferry has worked at AIP-PRISMA as Provincial Manager for Central Java, previously serving as Senior Business Consultant. He has also worked at PT Akses Konsultindo as Team Leader, as well as at The Asia Foundation and Microsave. Prior to that, he had experience at PT Interdev Prakarsa and KPPU, as well as Industry Advisor at SENADA.

With such diverse experiences, Ferry Dzulkifli Latief has established himself as a seasoned leader in the fields of economic development, small business, and corporate social responsibility. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking and travelling, which helps him get inspired and maintain a balanced life, continuing to be committed to driving economic growth and empowerment in various sectors.

Dharma Setiawan is a strategic leader who has an exceptional ability to integrate planning, management, and execution in various fields. With a solid educational background, namely Bachelor of Engineering in Engineering from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), State Administration Law from Universitas Merdeka, and Strategic Management from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Dharma has high confidence in facing complex challenges. He believes that collaboration is the key to success, and his basic working principles are empathy, humility, and knowledge sharing.

Dharma specialises in strategic management, marketing, business communication, negotiation, and market analysis, and has more than three decades of experience in various sectors, including business, government, education, and technology. Currently, he serves as Strategic Advisor (2019 – present), leading strategic planning in the business, trading, mining and construction sectors. Previously, as Chairman of the Executive Board of Mahakarya Asia University (2017-2022), he successfully improved the quality of education in three private universities.

As Vice Chairman of the DIY DPRD from the Gerindra Party Faction (2014-2019), Dharma was involved in policy initiatives that impacted regional development. He also led major projects such as the construction of the Gresik-Semarang gas pipeline and PLTU in West Sulawesi. His experience as Special Staff to the Minister of Cooperatives and MSMEs (1998-1999) and Project Manager of CITN (1993-1998) further enriched his insights and skills in public policy and international technology projects.

As Managing Director of Perkumpulan Untuk Peningkatan Usaha Kecil (PUPUK) (1986-1992), Dharma worked closely with Germany’s Friedrich Naumann Stiftung to support small businesses. His early career as Director of the Information Technology Centre and Technical Planner on large projects further strengthened his experience. With such a rich and diverse background, Dharma Setiawan has proven himself as a visionary leader who has contributed significantly to infrastructure development, public policy, education, and economic development in Indonesia.

Zukri Saad started his academic journey at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) after finishing high school in Padang in December 1974. He started college in January 1976 and earned a degree in Chemistry in 1985 after 10 years of study. During his studies, Zukri was active in various campus organisations, including as President of the ITB Society for Community Science Studies, Chairman of the Chemistry Student Association (AMISCA ITB), and Chairman of the ITB Student Council in the 1980-1981 period.

After graduation, Zukri dedicated himself to environmental issues and was active in various Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs). From 1992 to 1996, he served as Executive Director of Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia (WALHI), leading a network of 432 NGOs across Indonesia. At the age of 38, he also served as Honorary President of Friends of the Earth, a global organisation based in the Netherlands.

Zukri has visited 79 countries and written 41 books, expanding his influence and contribution in the environmental field. As a consultant, he developed the concept of ‘Strategic CSR towards Social Enterprises’ for the plantation sector and ‘Soft-Landing Mine Closure Scenario’ for sustainable mine closure. He has also been a member of US-SPIDR (United States Society of Professionals in Dispute Resolution) since 1992 and was certified as a conflict mediator by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia in 2012.

Zukri has received numerous awards and scholarships, including the Ashoka Foundation’s ‘Public Service Entrepreneurs’ scholarship from 1986 to 1990. In January 2013, he was awarded the Satyalancana Kebaktian Sosial by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia for his dedication in donating blood, having donated blood 162 times until January 2021.

Today, Zukri continues his hobbies of writing, gardening and travelling, and actively motivates rural communities to achieve economic, political, social and cultural independence. With a strong commitment to the environment and community empowerment, Zukri Saad continues to contribute to social progress and sustainability.

Deputy Chairman for Asset Development

Ismail Nachu was born in Pasuruan, East Java, on September 12 1965, from a simple family. Since childhood, he had to work hard to help his mother who sold at a small shop. Ismail underwent his basic education at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Suniah and continued on to Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Pasuruan. While at school, he not only studied, but also worked, including as a tailor. After completing his education at MAN, he continued studying at Darul Ulum University Jombang and IAIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, although his struggle was hampered by economic problems.

In the midst of these difficulties, Ismail not only pursued education, but was also active in organizations, including Indonesian Islamic Students (PII) and ICMI, which later became the places where he would take part in the future. In 2001, Ismail started a property business by buying a plot of land in Pasuruan. Thanks to his hard work, he succeeded in building a housing business that continues to grow. Apart from being a successful entrepreneur, Ismail is also active in the ICMI organization, where he has served as Chair of ICMI East Java since 2010.

As Chair of ICMI East Java, Ismail focuses on developing Muslim traders and seeks to foster an entrepreneurial spirit among students and Islamic boarding school students. Through training and business mentoring programs, Ismail targets to produce 10,000 Muslim entrepreneurs. He also collaborates with various parties, including the business community and banking institutions, to support the economic development of Muslims in East Java.
